Electricity is Good

If you were to look at the kitchen today, you wouldn't notice any major differences. With the demo done, the focus is now on electrical and plumbing. Apparently the existing electrical work is a hot mess, so our contractor is fixing everything.

Yesterday's plan of going on a day trip didn't pan out. The first half of my day was spent helping a friend who was in a car accident. The second half of the day, we went to Costco and then enjoyed the sunshine in the swimming pool. Some neighborhood kids also joined us. By dinner, our electricity was working downstairs! Hooray!

Heat Wave

The pool was a welcome relief in this crazy heat wave. Steven and his gang roughed each other up, while Loni, Daveo, and Kirsten played it safe in the hot tub. In the evening, we went over to the Sundstroms for dinner and socializing. Josh was sweet to drive out to say goodbye to Steven. What would we do without the Sundstroms!

Goodbye

The D15 family left today. My house is so quiet. We are already gathering a pile of things they have left behind. Daveo is lonely without his buddy Aaron. It was a fun week. I think they succeeded in their quest for sun and warmth. I was surprised at how often my nieces and nephews wanted to swim in our frigid pool. The little ones however stayed in the hot tub where it was warm.

Birthday with Cousins

We had fun celebrating my niece, Emily's 12th birthday today. Her birthday wish was to spend it swimming with cousins and that's just what happened. I love this girl!
I turned on Disney music (from Pandora) which sent Kirsten and Emily into a singing and dancing in the water frenzy. It was hilarious to watch Emily dance with her partner, the shark.
Dave-o and Owen did their own thing, like jumping off the diving board pretending they were Pokemon.

The Fourth

This Fourth of July was low key. But aren't those the best kinds? We stayed home and turned our front door into a revolving door. Friends, family, and neighbors came and went the entire day until 11pm when we all called it quits. Well, the teenagers wanted to keep going, but the adults had work the next day. We swam, ate, swam, BBQ, ate, swam, played games, and watched fireworks going off all around us.
 Hey cuz'! I'll catch you!
Emily!
I think James was channeling his Telestration ideas to Matt. He drew lots and lots of details that were irrelevant to the word, which is what James always did.
