The D15 family left today. My house is so quiet. We are already gathering a pile of things they have left behind. Daveo is lonely without his buddy Aaron. It was a fun week. I think they succeeded in their quest for sun and warmth. I was surprised at how often my nieces and nephews wanted to swim in our frigid pool. The little ones however stayed in the hot tub where it was warm.

Comedy Sportz
David is home from Dallas! After picking him up from the airport, the adults took Sean and Kirsten to Comedy Sportz in downtown San Jose. It's an improv comedy show. It was the perfect end to a perfect spring break with the D15 family. After the show, Sean's first comment was that his face hurt from smiling and laughing so much.

To the Beach!
This was the perfect beach day. No wind, lightly overcast sky with the sun hinting at coming out, warm temps, and willing explorers. To think, the D15 family almost missed out on this. Their original plans were to leave this morning and drive to Yosemite to spend the rest of their spring break vacation. However, a storm bring rain and snow to the area caused them to change their plans. Now we have more time to play. We started out in Monterey where we explored tide pools and ate ice cream at Guirardelli's after which we drove a little farther south to play in Carmel's famous soft, white sand.

Just the Two of Us
Thanks to Thavee, Deborah and I were able to escape the never ending hustle and bustle that comes with having 13 people in a home. We are girls, and more importantly sisters, so we of course spent some of our time at the mall to eat and do a bit of shopping. We finished off our freedom by taking a walk through the redwoods. It was so peaceful and we were able to stop and enjoy nature without being in "mom mode". (And we took silly selfies.)

Zoo Day
I woke up early this morning to drive David to the airport. He has a business trip in Dallas, TX for the week. By the time I got home, Deborah was awake and ready for our hike/photography practice. I took her on my favorite trail at the McAbee entrance which leads to a peaceful spot that overlooks the city and in the spring is covered with poppies. Along the way, we stopped a lot to take pictures of nature. There were no poppies coming up yet at my spot, but the hike was full of other beautiful attractions. We spent so much time stopping to take pictures, that we had to run most of the way back to the car.
Since our house was full of little monkeys running around, we all thought the little ones would feel at home visiting the SF Zoo for the day. Ironically, I think the zoo was quieter than my home. The animals were mellow. A peacock, of all animals, stole the show and was the favorite attraction at the zoo. That and a cement decline that the kids deemed a slide. We even ran into Mike and Stacy and their family at the zoo which was a huge surprise.
On our way home, we stopped at Fort Funston for Thavee to check out.
