Beauties of Preston

After dropping David off at the Helena airport, the kids and I loaded up the car for our next road trip. My parents feel that they are used only as a pit stop, but they are wrong. We enjoyed chasing down trains and putting money on the tracks, getting frappes at Caspers and cookies at Pepperidge Farm, playing games like Whoopee, visiting cemeteries, catching snakes, and celebrating Kirsten's birthday. The only bad part of our visit was Loni and I getting eye conjunctivitis.

Green Trees

First off, Justin flew in today! He came home to help me with my roadtrip that will begin in a couple of weeks. After picking him up from the airport, we all drove to Sanborn Park. As usual, while in the car, Loni asked me where we were going a dozen times. My answer was to see the Redwood trees. Upon entering the park, I announced our arrival to the Redwoods. Loni immediately questioned my sanity and said, "No! These are Green Trees! Not Red!"
Ha! She got me.
Dad hung out on a bench in a grove of Redwoods while the rest of us went on a short nature loop. I love coming here. It's so peaceful and beautiful.

In Search of Salmon

One of Dad's request while here was to eat a juicy salmon. So, we drove to Monterey and walked along the wharf reading the menus. We settled on a Domenico's and were thrilled to be seated at a window with a view of the bay. We enjoyed watching fishing boats come and go with seals following them. The food was fantastic! Dad's salmon was cooked the way he wanted and we all left with full tummies. Next, we drove a little ways south to tour the Carmel Basilica Mission and ended the day at the white sand beach. It was such a beautiful day.

Wiggle Walk

After church, I took Mom and the two little ones on a walk to look for deer. It was a beautiful evening. We got our wiggles out as well as found deer. I'd call that a successful adventure.

A Member Now

The big news over here is that we have another baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in our family. Daveo's baptismal day was sweet. It was in the evening (6pm).Brother Ford, our Home Teacher gave a talk on baptism and Sister Sundstrom spoke on the gift of the Holy Ghost.Just before Bro. Ford began his talk, Daveo turned to me and said, "Mom, I feel nauseous!" The nerves had set in. But he carried on and was baptized without puking, with Grandpa Weller and Brother Zamora as the witnesses. He commented afterward that he felt warm inside and knows it's the Holy Ghost. After his baptism and confirmation we returned home to eat cherry bars and play Tellestrations. I love this kid!
