Pinnacles, Painting, Play
It's been a while since our last visit to the Pinnacles. This seemed like the perfect Labor Day activity because we knew there wouldn't be traffic getting there. I was worried about how Loni would do on the 2.2 mile hike and even brought up the idea to David to buy a backpack to put her in. He didn't think she'd like that, so we took or chances. Loni did great! She walked 90% of the way and loved exploring with her siblings. At one point along the trail, Steven, Dave-o, and Kirsten and I climbed up some boulders to reach a cool rock structure. While we were exploring I heard David yell, "Oh my gosh!" Over and over. We hurried down to find a huge tarantula crawling towards a curious Loni (who loves spiders). I later learned from Mom Zinn that it is mating season for tarantulas. Kirsten and I were the only ones brave enough to pose with the spider.

Dave-o wanted to do the same.
In the evening, we all drove to Mom and Dad Zinn's for a BBQ and opportunity for David and his mom to paint together. This is something they have been planning for quite a while, but Mom Zinn's injured leg needed time to heal.

An Art Gallery
David continues to paint away. He's very talented and improves each time his hand picks up a paint brush. I think we are soon going to need an addition to our house to serve as an art gallery.

David's Gallery
David has been happily painting happy little landscapes with happy mistakes and happy homes for happy creatures. He's very happy. Enjoy the gallery.

Another Bob Ross Want-to-be
Steven wanted to try a Bob Ross painting as well. He did the same one that Kirsten and David did together. Not bad for a 17 year old.
